For many families in the region, harvesting these nuts provides essential income. Once gathered, each nut is carefully carved, sanded, and polished to a smooth, glossy finish. The result is a natural material that resembles ivory in appearance, yet it’s completely plant-based and cruelty-free. Each nut has its own unique pattern of veins, much like a fingerprint or snowflake, ensuring no two pieces are ever alike.

A portion of The Hive Fund is dedicated to supporting children in rural parts of China, where winters can be especially harsh.
